Finding the root to my interest in financial services starts back in Lockdown of 2020 where like most I was spending most of my time on social media, seeing regular posts and videos around this career option got me thinking about it being a possibility for my career. From there it’s like a snowball rolling down a hill and from there it spreads like a virus, I began a club at school for younger year groups that had 30+ attendees around financial services, spent all my free time reading books like “think and grow rich”, “rich dad, poor dad” and was looking at ways to make myself as a candidate more attractive which is when I found Springpod.
What attracted me to Springpod was the ability of the platform that allowed sixth form students who didn’t have any experience to gain experience .Which is currently a big issue and doesn’t come around often enough as most places want you to have experience to get experience! It affected my career massively as without I’m not sure I would’ve been able to secure the role I’m currently in as Springpod built the foundations I used to build my CV
My advice to anyone looking at Apprenticeships in financial services is to be honest. Assessors see through any image you try to portray of yourself that isn’t genuine and if it does work, you won’t be in a position that is right for you. It’s a numbers game, you need to apply to as many companies as possible and don’t be afraid of rejection!
