When did you first develop an interest in film & TV?

I completed Film and TV work experience and Business Management work experience and career wise landed somewhere in the middle in Production Management!

I’ve always had an interest in this area, always travelled to interesting places relating to it for example, but I never really considered it as a potential career path until I did these Springpod courses.

What attracted you to Springpod, how was your experience of using it and how did it affect your career direction?

I was encouraged to use Springpod by my college during my A Levels due to the lack of work experience through the pandemic. I found it extremely useful and easy to use and it certainly inspired me to consider a career path I never had before. It highlighted that there was a way to put my logistical skills into use in a creative field. It also gave me insight into an industry that was particularly hard to access during Covid; this certainly contributed to me getting to where I am now.

What advice would you give someone considering an apprenticeship?

I strongly recommend getting an apprenticeship in this industry, I think it’s the best way to learn how it works. Everyone at the BBC has been extremely supportive, there’s an excellent apprenticeship team and staff I work with everyday are just as invested in my future as me. They really are willing to share all their expertise and that’s invaluable in this industry. Make sure you take any opportunity to network with people, whether they’re a manager or someone just starting out like yourself.
